DRAFT v1 — for review. Coach Drew and the 1FA staff are refining this document.
Sections and specific figures marked [EDIT] will be finalized before it goes live.
One For All Athletics is a family built on character. This document exists so that
every parent and athlete knows exactly what we stand for and what we ask of each other before
joining. Please read it fully — it's the foundation of our culture.
1. Our Philosophy
We are a specialized program focused on the horizontal jumps and all sprints up to the 800 meters.
Our priorities, in order: develop the athlete, grow a genuine love for the sport, and open doors —
including scholarships — for those who want to compete at the next level. We intentionally keep the
team small (a strict ratio of one coach per 15 athletes) so every athlete is seen, known, and coached.
We select families on character, not talent.
2. What We Commit to You
- Qualified, invested coaching with individualized development for every athlete.
- A safe environment — all coaches have completed Abuse Prevention Systems Sexual Abuse Awareness
+ Youth Sports training and passed the exam.
- Honest, timely communication about your athlete's progress and any concerns.
- A supportive team culture where kids are pushed and lifted up.
3. What We Ask of the Athlete
- Show up on time, ready to work, and give honest effort every session.
- Be coachable — receive feedback with an open mind and apply it.
- Support and encourage teammates. We do not tear each other down.
- Represent 1FA well — on the track, at school, and online. What you post is a reflection of the team.
- Compete with class. Win humbly, lose graciously, respect officials and competitors.
4. What We Ask of Parents
- Advocate for your child — and teach them to advocate for themselves. We love that
you fight for your athlete. Channel it by encouraging them to come to their coaches directly
with questions, concerns, or goals. Learning to self-advocate is one of the most valuable skills we
can help build.
- Respect the coaching staff as the experts they are. Our coaches have competed and
coached at the highest levels. Trust their eye, their plan, and their decisions — especially the ones
that aren't obvious yet.
- Don't add pressure at home. We are chasing development, not chasing PRs. The personal
bests will come — but only if the athlete is given time and room to breathe. Let us handle the
pushing; you handle the loving support.
- Be a positive presence. Cheer for effort and for the whole team, not just your own athlete.
- Let the coaches coach. Please don't coach from the stands or the fence during practice or meets.
- Bring concerns to the coaching staff respectfully and through the right channels — never through
other parents or athletes.
- Model the sportsmanship you want your athlete to show.
5. The Development Standard — for Athletes & Parents
This is the heart of how we coach, and we want every family aligned with it before joining:
- We will put athletes into uncomfortable positions — on purpose. Growth happens at
the edge of comfort, not inside it. Discomfort in practice is a feature, not a flaw.
- Often the event chooses the athlete, not the other way around. An athlete may arrive
wanting one event and discover their true gift is another. Our job is to recognize where each athlete's
greatest fit lies, then pour time, energy, and discipline into mastering it.
- Being coachable means trusting that process — even when it means embracing an event,
a workout, or a role the athlete didn't expect. The athletes who lean into it are the ones who break
through.
6. Attendance & Commitment
Consistency is how athletes improve and how teams build trust. Full participation is expected, and it's
the athlete's responsibility to inform a staff member of any injury or absence in advance. Three
unexcused absences will result in removal from the program. National-level athletes carry a
larger commitment, including travel to bigger meets.
7. Team Culture & Code of Conduct
Our culture is the whole point. Violence, threatening behavior, teasing, bullying, or harassment of any
kind is not tolerated. Athletes are expected to be fully engaged — active, attentive, and committed to
their own and the team's development. Because we select on character, we reserve the right to remove an
athlete or family for cultural reasons, not athletic ones. In the event of a rules violation, parents are
notified immediately and the athlete may be removed; no refunds are provided in that case.
8. Fees & Financial Commitment
- Annual Team Fee: $800, which includes the Nike Camp (a $400 value).
May be paid in full or in installments — we work with every family on a plan.
- 1FA Uniform Package: $150. Required for competition. Uniforms must be
ordered 60 days before the season begins to arrive in time — for the 2027 season (starting
June 12, 2027) the deadline is April 13, 2027. After the deadline, alternate uniforms
are available from our partner Kilogear for $180.
- Additional costs include the AAU athlete card, meet entry fees, and travel — see the
full Local and National pathway breakdowns on the Join page. Families are
notified in advance of any costs beyond those listed.
- Refunds: Season-ending injuries that occur in practice or competition may qualify for
a refund. No refunds are provided for removal due to a rules violation. If cost is ever a concern,
contact us — payment should never be a barrier to participation.
- Payment: Zelle to ddrew@1facollective.com. Questions: info@1facollective.com.
9. NIL & Media
Every athlete already owns their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). 1FA helps athletes understand, build,
and leverage that value — and any use of an athlete's likeness by the program is solely to advance the
athlete's own brand and opportunities. The athlete retains full ownership and control of their NIL at all
times. The full media release is included in the registration packet.
10. Safety
Athlete safety is non-negotiable. Every 1FA coach has completed the Abuse Prevention Systems Sexual
Abuse Awareness Training + Youth Sports program and passed the examination (minimum passing score 70%).
Acknowledgment
By applying to 1FA, the parent/guardian and athlete acknowledge that they have read and understood
this commitment and agree to uphold the expectations, culture, and financial obligations described
above. You'll confirm this on the application form.
